Visiting our client: how Under Armour found the balance between energy and tranquility in the workplace.

How Under Armour brought silence and focus back to the workplace

When Under Armour transitioned from working entirely from home to four days a week in the office after the corona period, office life changed dramatically. The workplace came alive again: more colleagues, more conversations, more energy but also more noise.

Whereas meeting rooms were previously packed with teams, they were now increasingly occupied by one or two colleagues conducting a video call or consultation. The result: a shortage of meeting rooms as well as a growing need for places where employees could take a break.

A structural remodel was not an option. Under Armour's acoustic requirements were high, and creating fully insulated, air-conditioned rooms would mean a hefty investment. The solution turned out to be simpler, cheaper and more flexible. Loosely positioned booths were chosen, positioned right next to the workstations. This allowed employees to quickly and intuitively use a booth for a video call, consultation or a moment of focus.

The requirement: optimal acoustic insulation, so that conversations are not audible on the shop floor. In addition, the booths are linked to Under Armour's existing reservation system, allowing colleagues to easily book the booths through the same tool as the meeting rooms.
